They call me
Marcus Karbalai.

I am a Web Development consultant with a background in Digital Project Management, B2B, B2C, and Networking IT with a passion for public relations and team leadership roles. Most recently I was at Youville Haussmann Park managing projects for their Playfab XR Server platform, integrating gamified principles into many aspects of our clients, be it OTT Broadcasting, B2C marketplaces, Banking services, or company onboarding solutions. Managing a team of Devs, strategists, UI/UX designers, copywriters, and working in conjunction with other product owners I would oversee the creation of user journeys, strategic approaches, UX wireframe prototypes, functional demos, and deliver the final product with follow up versioning based on data analytics  and client/customer feedback. I am currently working as a freelance digital project manager for web based platforms.

Some backstory:

Growing up with my family's network security and infrastructure company I have always been very tech savvy, I was surrounded by it and as the technology and software grew and adapted, so did I. From tinkering and building PCs for personal use (games) to organizing, ordering, installing PCs and setting up the local intranet for multiple computer labs in the University of Calgary, the desire to push forward and always remain current or ahead with technology was imbued at an early age while working for our company.

During my career I have always been designated "the one who puts out fires", and I'm not speaking in kitchen terminology. I am level headed, detail oriented, proactive, and I am able to see the point of view of others - be they clients or business partners. I am a problem solver through and through.

My years in restaurant management have given me a knack of being detail oriented. When overseeing an operation where the level of customer satisfaction is essentially given to you instantly, every cog in the machine has to be running smoothly to achieve success. To ensure this, it was imperative to find problems or inefficiencies before they developed.

I took the opportunity of the covid lockdown to rehash my skills in HTML, CSS, Webflow, Shopify (Liquid) and Javascript with an online Harvard Certification Course.

tl;dr Marcus = good
